Sorting the Classroom
Tuesday January 5, 2016
The students were asked to find items in the classroom and bring them to the carpet. I asked them how they would like to sort the items. Mackenzie suggested that we sort by colour; so first we sorted by colour. Then I asked the students to pick up one of the items off the floor that they did not originally bring to the carpet and sit back down. I asked again how could we sort the same items but different this time. Charli said we should sort by size. Here are some pictures we would like to share with you.

What is sorting?
Monday January 4, 2016
The students were asked what sorting is and this is some of what they came up with...I really hope they are good at cleaning as most of them told me about sorting the toys in the classroom when we clean up :)

Graphing Shoes
Thursday November 19, 2015
As a class we graphed our shoe type on the carpet. We started with laced, velcro and boots but as we started to graph our shoes we noticed that there were other types of shoes our class was wearing. Charli made the suggestion that we place the shoes that were laces and velcro on the line between the lace and velcro columns. What a GREAT idea but then Yema noticed that there might be other shoes in the class; so he suggested that some of the kids move back and we add another column that could be for the other shoes that don't fall under any of the other columns. As a class we named that column other.
After graphing our shoes we came up with some conclusions about the shoes we wear on our feet.
1. Most of the kids wear shoes with laces
2. Only one person wears boots
3. The kids that wear Velcro and other types of shoes are the same.
